Take the Boulevard Jacquard until you get to the traffic lights
at the Municipal Theatre. Take a right onto the Boulevard Gambetta. Turn left on
the roundabout following signs for the A16 autoroute. Take the autoroute in the
Boulogne direction, leaving at Junction 12 following the Cité Europe
signs.
Bus: Take the No. 7 from Calais train station.
Facilities: Restaurant food court (in Cité Europe), cashpoints, toilets, 24-hour
petrol station, taxi rank and newsagents.
Description
Located in the Cité Europe shopping mall, Carrefour is the
latest addition the Calais shopping scene. The store carries a larger range of
goods than it's competitors as well as having easier access. Apart from the
usual supermarket section there is a massive selection of household goods
ranging from computers to car accessories. Carrefour has an enormous wine
section, and as you would expect it is mainly concentrated on French wine. There
are usually tastings of selected wines available. Look out for the staff on
rollerskates, the place is so vast they need them to get around!
