Amsterdam port information
Amsterdam's port is situated just outside the city in Ijmuiden, and has excellent national and European-wide road and rail links. Only 8km from Amsterdam city centre it is the port of choice for much of the city's marine traffic. It is an hour away from Rotterdam and the huge Europoort by car, two and half hours away from Brussels and an hour away from The Hague.
If travelling as a foot passenger, there is a connecting bus from the ferry port to Amsterdam's central railway station, and from here it is possible to get trains to Basel, Munich, Berlin, Moscow and Paris, as well as internal trains to most places on the Dutch railway network.
