Caen port information
The port of Caen is actually located 10 miles outside the city of Caen itself and has good links with national and international road networks. Paris is two and a half hours away along the A13 motorway, but the port also provides the perfect location from which to explore northern France in areas such as the Ctes-d'Amor and Normandy, with Rouen only an hour and a half away by car.
If travelling as a foot passenger, a short bus ride into the town of Caen itself will give access to national and European bus and train networks to all major cities.

Places of interest around Caen port:
Caen is a historic city which played a large role both during the time of William the Conqueror and during the events of World War II. The Caen castle is one of the largest medieval castles in Western Europe and saw military use of one kind or another up until the end of the Second World War. Another location well worth a visit is the Memorial for the Peace, meditating upon Elie Wiesel's declaration that "peace is not a gift from God to man; it is a gift from man to himself."
