| Located in the heart of Gréville-Hague, the French painter Jean François Millet's birthplace is now open to visitors. In each of the rooms of this traditional 19th centurycover the life of Millet and the inhabitants of La Hague who influenced Millet's art. An artist at the forefront of what became known as the impressionist period, his paintings can be found in many of the world's most famous museums. Perhaps his most famous painting is of two peasants at peace in a field during evening prayer. 'The Angelus', 'The Reaper' and 'the Sower' are amongst his famous works. |
