Thomas Henry Fine Art Museum
Founded in 1835, this place is the 3rd largest art museum in Normandy. A permanent exhibition shows over 300 paintings and sculptures from the 15th to 19th centuries, ceramics and crockery from 16th to 19th centuries. The museum also holds a collection of European art from Fra Angelico to Murillo and French works from Clouet to Chardin and David.
Native Norman artists are also featured, including Millet's porttrait works and Guillaume Fouace.

Liberation Museum, Cherbourg Liberation Museum
At the top of the Montagne du Roule, 117 metres above the sea, you have a panoramic view of the harbour from the fort, which was built during the Second Empire era. The fort now houses a museum founded in 1954 and renovated in 1994. This museum was the first Liberation Museum in France. The Museum tour takes visitors on a film tour from the shadows of the Occupation to the lights of the D Day.
