| Tatihou Island is located off the coast of Saint-Vaast-la Hague, 30 km from Cherbourg. The Island is home to a large population of sea birds and is popular with nature and histroy enthusiasts. Its eventful history includes: Battle of La Hougue (1692), construction of Vauban fortifications (1694) and a lazareto at the beginning of the 18th century. Visitors can also enjoy discovering a Marirtime Museum, a cultural centre, and a botannical garden. |
