Seaside resort. Lovely sandy beach.
Turn right and follow the D4 - lovely panorama:
DIELETTE:
Two ports - granite houses.
FLAMANVILLE:
EDF Nuclear power plant.
15th and 17th centuries château.
SCIOTOT:
Lovely panoramic view heading towards the village.
LE ROZEL:
Château with 11th and 13th century towers and moats on the eastern side.
BARNEVILLE-CARTERET:
Seaside resort with beautiful sandy beaches. Fishing port and Marina.
Beautiful walks around the cliff tops and through the nature reserve in the dunes of Hatainville.
PORTBAIL:
Marina. Sandy beach. Seperated from the village by a port. Remains of a gallo-roman baptistery.
SAINT-SAVEUR LE VICOMTE:
Medieval château dating from 10th, 14th and 16th centuries, occupied several times by the English during the 100 years war.
J. Barbey d'Aurévilly museum. 11th century Benedictine Abbey.
BRICQUEBEC:
14th and 15th centuries château and 14th century dungeons. a remarkable medieval military site.
Take D900 road to go back to Cherbourg through Breuville (15th century church) and Martinvast 16th century château (listed Historical Monument) set in an English-style park.
