Cairnryan Port Information
The Port of Cairnryan, operated by P&O European Ferries (Irish Sea) Ltd., is located on the eastern edge of Loch Ryan, approximately 1km to the south of the main village of Cairnryan.
Cairnryan is only one hour away by sea from Larne on the P&O Express fast craft or 105 minutes on board the European Causeway and European Highlander super ferries, with up to 9 daily departures to Larne in the summer months. In 2000, P&O opened a new passenger and freight terminal, designed to cater for freight, tourist vehicles and passengers.
The passenger terminal includes check-in facilities, a reception area, a baggage-handling area, a snack bar and shop, as well as other general facilities for ferry passengers. In addition, the new P&O freight terminal offers commercial drivers a one-stop freight only weighbridge and check-in facilities, designed to ensure minimum waiting times.
The port currently provides some 200 long-stay on-site car parking spaces, and sufficient accommodation to store HGV trailers that are either to be loaded on the ferries or awaiting collection for their continued journey on the British mainland.
