Car Directions: It is easy to reach Dover directly from London or the rest of the UK via the M2 or M20. The roundabout at the bottom of Jubilee Way, at the entrance to the Eastern Docks, is where the A2 and A20 meet. Follow signposts for roads into the port itself. There are 2 docks, East and West. The Hoverspeed terminal is in the Western Docks; SeaFrance and P&O dock in the Eastern docks.
Bus Directions: Frequent express coach services from London Victoria coach station. Other buses arrive at the main bus station in the town centre.
Rail Directions: There are regular direct rail services from London Victoria and London Charing Cross to Dover Priory station daily (travel time approx 1hr 45mins), which is close to the town centre. There are free bus services provided by the ferry operators to and from the Eastern Docks the day.
Amenities: There is a multi-storey car park, adjacent to the Travel Centre at Eastern Docks, which is reserved for disabled parking. The Granada Services buildings, beyond the vehicle check in point, has 2 cash machines. Thomas Cook have Bureau de Change facilities in the Departure Lounge.
Petrol Stations: Dover Docks Filling Station at Eastern Docks or, for 24 hour service, there is also the Jubilee Service Centre which is on Jubilee Way, near the Eastern Docks.
Planning Ahead
Places of Interest: Apart from strolling along the beautiful white cliffs, there are plenty of attractions, including Dover Castle (and its ghost), Dover museum and the Old Town Gaol. Street theatre is performed all year at a variety of locations around the town.
