Larne Port Information
The Port of Larne is located on the east coast of Northern Ireland, 22 miles from Belfast, 120 miles from Dublin and 34 miles from Scotland. The deep-water port is close to the sea and is not subject to tidal restrictions.
Its strategic position provides easy access to Great Britain, continental Europe and beyond via the Scottish ports of Cairnryan, Troon and the English port of Fleetwood. The service to Cairnryan offers the shortest and fastest crossing to Britain from Ireland.
Road access to the Port of Larne is via the A8 which has recently undergone a £12m upgrade, while Translink provides a regular bus service directly to the Passenger Terminal and links the Port of Larne to the all-Ireland rail network.
There are excellent road, rail and bus links from Cairnryan, Troon and Fleetwood to all parts of Great Britain, making Larne the first choice for those travelling to Europe via the "land bridge" of Britain.
