Car Directions: Whichever part of the country you are coming from, you will need to get onto the A3/M27 route to Portsmouth. The city centre and ferry port are linked directly to the M27 by the M275. Follow the M275 to its end - where clear signposting directs travellers straight to the port.
Bus Directions: There are regular buses to Portsmouth Harbour and to and from Portsmouth and Southsea train stations.
Rail Directions: Frequent train services from London, the Midlands and Wales, terminate at Portsmouth and Southsea railway station, where a short bus ride will bring you to the port.
Amenities: In the main terminal there are toilets, a baby care room, first aid facilities, cash point machines, bureau de change, a café, bar, gift shop, photo booth, telephones, a post box and a public fax machine, lost property and left luggage counters and an information desk.
Petrol Stations: There is a 24 hour BP filling station in Commercial Road, 5 mins from the ferry port, near the junction of All Saints Street. Or, right next to the ferry port is The Shell Victory filling station, in Kettering Terrace.
Planning Ahead
Places of Interest: Portsmouth has a uniuque maritime history, which is well worth exploring through attactions such as the Mary Rose, HMS Victory, and Fort Brockhurst in Gosport. There are two nearby castles: Portchester Castle and Southsea Castle. The Sea Life centre explores life beneath the ocean, and the Pyramids Centre water park offers fun in the water!
