- Episode of the Hundred-Year War: 1415, Battle of Azincourt.
English archers slaughter French chivalry. For more information: The medieval history Centre and the site of the battle in Azincourt proposes a chronology of historical causes and effects, a scenography with models, an interactive area and a visit of the battle field with the possibility of audio guiding. -1803:
Napoleon covets England from the French coasts in Boulogne-sur-Mer, where he creates the Great Army and awards the first Legions of Honour.

- 1914/1918: The Great War.
On the Artois Front, a hundred thousand soldiers die on the plateau of Notre-Dame de Lorette. Places of interest: the Canadian Memorial in Vimy, a tribute to the soldiers who fell on the crest during the First World War. -1939/1945: Second World War:
Construction of the Atlantic Wall and launch pads for V1, V2 and V3 rockets. For more information: 'La Coupole' in Helfaut near Saint-Omer. This impressive underground V2 rocket base built in 1943 is now the History and Remembrance Centre in the Nord-Pas de Calais, a living museum based on images. The Musée de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale (Second World War Museum) in Calais has 21 exhibition rooms retracing the history of the town and region from September 1939 through to the Liberation. Tel. +33 (0)3 21 87 33 01.

- The Mining History Centre of Lewarde. Plummet into the heart of the history of mining…
Established on a former tip, the largest mining museum in Europe stretches over more than 8oo acres. During the tour conducted by former miners, visitors can discover the history of coal exploitation, and the daily life of miners in the Nord-Pas de Calais region.
