We propose that you discover our region by means of short round trips that take you through the Nord-Pas de Calais region. For the sake of convenience, each trip starts in Lille and is organized over one or two days. Then it is up to you to gain inspiration from them to make up your own itinerary. Depending on your pace, your means of transport (car or coach) and on your imagination, every combination is possible...

1/ Flemish culture and architecture…/ 2 days/1 night - 80 km
1st day, morning:
Guided tour of Lille: the Old Stock Exchange, the Belfry, the Rihour Palace… Midday: Wide choice of restaurants in the Old Town of Lille.
Afternoon:
Palais des Beaux-Arts (Lille), the fine Arts Museum or the Musée de l'Hospice Comtesse (Lille): founded in 1237 by Jeanne of Flanders which exposes collections of paintings from Dutch and Flemish schools, ancient musical instruments… or the Claeyssens Distillery (Wambrechies). In a building listed "Historic Monument", discover the production site of the famous 'genièvre' and naturally end your visit by tasting it…

 
2nd day, morning:
The Musée d'Art et d'Industrie (Roubaix): established in the town's former public swimming pool, this art-deco building with an exceptional architecture exposes collections of paintings, sculptures, decorative art and collections of textiles. And factory shops: L'Usine, Mc Arthur Glen, Espace Grand Rue… or the Musée d'Art Moderne (Villeneuve-d'Ascq): prestigious collections presenting the cubist master-pieces by Braque, Laurens, Picasso as well as whole reference works by Léger, Miro and Modigliani., Midday:
Choose to eat in either Lille or Arras.
Afternoon:
Visit Arras to discover its famous squares with 155 Flemish-style residences, the Fine Arts Museum in the heart of the Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Vaast and the 'bôves', underground network. Return to Lille.

*A port of call on the Côte d'Opale…/ 2 days / 1 night - 365 km
1st day:
Departure from Lille.
Morning:
Guided tour of Calais to discover the town's cultural wealth, particularly the famous "Bourgeois" sculpted by Rodin. Followed by a shopping trip to the Cité de l'Europe.
And:
Coastal road in the direction of the Blanc-Nez et Gris-Nez Capes for an open view over the English coast, then a wander around the fishing villages of Wissant, Audresselles, Ambleteuse…
Midday:
A break for lunch in Boulogne-sur-Mer.
Afternoon:
Nausicaà (Boulogne-sur-Mer): the largest European complex on the subject of the sea world: 18,000 m2 of exhibitions and activities, 4,000 m2 of water and thousands of species of fish…

And:
Guided tour of the upper town (Boulogne-sur-Mer). Explore the old town (listed Art and History town) along the cobblestone streets.
And/or:
Visit the Château-Museum (Boulogne-sur-Mer): extensive collections including the first collection in Europe for Eskimo masks, the second collection after The Louvre for Greek antique vases, as well as numerous Egyptian and Gallo-Roman antiquities.
2nd day, morning:
Maréis "In the heart of the life of deep sea fishermen" (Etaples): the Centre is entirely given over to artisan fishing.
Midday:
Lunch in Etaples.
Afternoon:
Choose from one of the seaside resorts of Hardelot or Le Touquet… for a chance to relax, walk or sports activities. Play with the wind on the vast stretches of fine sand in a sand yacht, speed-sail or flying a kite.
And/or:
Musée municipal - Public Museum (Berck-sur-Mer): right near the beach, the museum exposes a comprehensive collection of century old paintings on the subject of sea life in Berck and collections of archaeology Return to Lille.
